Konjuh has been tipped for the very top and I mean better than Vekic who is already ranked inside the top 100 at 16, so Jade's effort does deserve merit even if Konjuh is not at her best.
Seen Jade Windley last year she got blown away by Sam Murray in Glasgow in October. Agree with Jaggy cant see her getting much higher in rankings === reminds me of Jade Curtis in stature.
I wouldn't say Lucy will have it easy. Katy Dunne and Anna Brogan have both had wins against ranked players. And also wouldn't say Jade losing to a player ranked in the 800s is a good effort either regardless of how up and coming she is. Was only last year Jade was being touted as top 200 player.

Really? If you mean physical stature, I think Jade W is quite a few inches taller.
I'd like to propose someone start up a general "British Womens Tennis is Rubbish" thread. This is obviously the opinion of several people, and they have a point.
On a separate thread they can discuss the disastrous sate of affairs, and the heinous mal-administration of the LTA in general, and it's failures with regards to the women's game in our country.
I don't think it's valid to consistently and repeatedly criticise a player ranked 500-1000+ with comments such as 'they're never going any where', 'useless', 'rubbish' and so on.
They're not world beaters, no one pretends they are, and that is not the point. Neither is every single match a GB player loses a fruitful excuse to beat the LTA . Nor is it useful to come as close as possible to suggesting players are a disgrace to the game for continuing trying to play it, and really should quit, without actually saying it.
It is perfectly possible, and useful, to follow these players and hope that they can reach beyond their own current personal bests, and support them in their attempts to do so.
I ask for a 'separation of church and state': bash the LTA on a dedicated thread leave the tournament threads for comment on the players performance - which in most cases we actually know next to nothing about, as we look at live scores at best.
I have no problem with negativity, even relentless and wilfully mean spirited negativity, but can we separate it so that it gets put together?

When she had a couple of wins on grass I believe against top 200 players. Some people on here verge on either being pedantic or misguided.
Jade won matches against Foretz Gacon (Eastbourne) and Pliskova (Nottingham) last year on grass. No mention of Jade being a top 200 player on either thread. That makes me the pedant and you the mis-guided one.
Dasha (Danielle) was allocated Anna Brogan's wildcard on Friday after Anna made the doubles final in the Paraguay G1. Presumably that was because her rescheduled flight back (yesterday) didn't allow much time for recovery and preparation on a different surface. Hence expect Anna to be offered a wildcard for one of the upcoming tournaments.

Or perhaps you are clutching at straws because I am right. You are also sad checking threads from then especially when I never said who or where. But it was said elsewhere top 200 potential which I'm sure sadly most people would agree is unlikely to happen.
I want Jade to do well but grass court results normally favour many british players . her ranking will slip if she cannot maintain these results in the summer

Yes, maybe I am sad, but no sadder than someone making up 'facts' to support their criticism of a player. And whilst it may be true thay Jade won't make top 200, why say it?
Until fairly recently this forum has been great in its unswerving support for British players. Posters would report their observations, report on matches, results etc, provide a bit of insight and so on, but always giving their full support to British players. However, over the last few months, a few trolls have entered the fray and hooked a few regulars into their sniping.
Hope they get bored soon and move on to their next fad.
Jade Curtis was really tiny for a tennis player as far as i could make out Jade Windley is not much taller
Windley is tall enough, about 5'7 I would guess. Probably about the same as Heather and definitely taller than Tara who both seem to be doing fine despite their stature.
