There hasn't really been challengers though for him to play in. Golding was probably less deserving than ed is now and got one although I suppose it depends who you are and if your face fits. Will be interesting though because there is a possibility the way points are due to come off that we could have no Brits in the top 250 bar Murray
Liam broken for the 7th time in 8 games (and this isn't women's tennis), although he has taken 3 BP opportunities himself, so presumably there's nothing too awry with his general play. Would love to see what's up with his serve live.......I'm sure Tom's playing OK but in men's tennis to lose your serve so regularly is VERY unusual.
Or perhaps Korriban Tom F has a better return than Liam's serve. I don't think this is a surprising result at all in fact I was going to bet on it had it been available.

I do agree with you on who I thought would win today's match, more based on current form, rather than who I believe is or will be the better player. Not sure if Tom's ever reached a $10k SF before, so this is already a good tournament for him.
Thanks for your point about return of serve, Jaggy. I think we both know that even the best return of servers wouldn't expect to break a good pro's serve 7 times out of 8 in the men's game unless either the 2 players were hopelessly mismatched or the server was having a real off-day.
It's still not good to be broken so many times and it really shouldn't be happening.
I don't know the stats but have never though got the impression that Liam has that great a serve from the occssions I have seen him.
I think this was discussed before, but how tall is Liam ? It's a bit indescribable, but to me in some ways he lacks court presence in a way similar to how I think of Evo.
