...or did you actually mean have 15 in total in the top 500, paulisi ?

Good win for Liam although Michon went out first round to Willis last week so he was beatable. Think TomF may be one of the seasons biggest rankings jumpers by end of year

Josh retiring from doubles maybe means he was carrying an injury which might explain the poor show in the Gabb match with his defensive play.

James Marsalek's results this year have been disappointing.

Never been hugely touted, but I know that I was not alone in being encouraged by the quiet progress he had made over the last couple of years, often very competitive even in defeat to higher ranked players.

I hope he turns it around again quite soon

Pleased that Ashley beat Alex Ward to prove the doubters wrong!

Some good results here from the 600-800 club, beating considerably higher ranked opponents: Gabb. Broady. Hewitt. Just what the Doctor ordered. It would be excellent to see Liam go on a long run to SFs or beyond, and start pushing Kyle harder. In fact if all of these can start pushing each other higher it would be a win-win scenario.

Very disappointing again from James Marsalek - the loss was probably expected, but he was broken 5 times and didn't appear from the scoreline to be putting up much of a fight. 2 ranking points in 7 tournaments to date - Sunderland is looking like a "must do well" tournament for both James and George Morgan to give themselves a boost.

Traditional Ed Corrie start - *2-5 down, and break points for 2-6 but hangs tough and wins the set 7-5. I don't know what he's eating for breakfast these days, but its definitely good stuff....if a little "slow release"

Indiana,
slightly confused over what you are asking
top 500 players(at same time)

Andy, James W, Jamie B, Josh G, Alex B, Dan E, Ed C, Josh M, Dan S, Alex W, Neil P, Oli, Kyle, Marcus, Dan C plus potentially Fitzy, Slabba, Bloomer (if fit)

500-700 Burn, Marsalek, Burton, Carpenter, Hewitt, Gabb, Short, Farquhason, Broady, Rice etc

The theatre of the absurd today LOL

All the best to Ashley Hewitt, but I don't quite get that one win against Alex Ward "proves the doubters wrong".

Sorry, paulisi, I'd pretty much decided that you must have meant 15 players in the top 500 at the same time IN TOTAL.

What you sctually spoke of originally was 15 players "breaking into" the top 500 at the same time, which to me quite clearly means 15 new players excluding these already there.

As I say, I had pretty much after my first post decided that you couldn't have meant that, which is why I enquired as to whether you meant in total ( including existing top 500 ers ).

I'm relieved that you have confirned "in total" and I'm sorry re any misunderstanding.

If I'd had my thinking hat on, all I would have said in the first place was "I asume that you are actually including the existing top 500ers".

L32: Marcus Willis WR 638 beat (6) Timo Nieminen (FIN) WR 394 : 6-4, 6-1

Burton is a set and a break up. Corrie is a break up in the third.

Ed is now 5-0* up in the 3rd - that'll teach Sakharov for winning a set LOL
