Josh very average, just knocked balls up the centre with lots of topspin. Gabb the far more assertive and served well, fully deserved win.

Dreadful result for Josh he must be in a rut at the moment even if he played to 50per cent ability he really should be beating very average players like Gabb.

Poor Richard Gabb!
What on earth has he done to offend people on here?
Maybe he read this thread before the match, motivation enough I would have thought. ;)

I don't think he has offended anyone on here. Someone just asked a question and got some honest answers. From what I have seen he is a solid player but I haven't seen anything that indicates to me that he will have a decent career, by which I mean making it to the challenger tour. This isn't a personal slight, just an assesment based on what I have seen. I hope he proves me wrong because he seems like quite a nice guy.

Nobody's saying that Richard isnt a very good tennis player, merely that he hasnt suggested YET to those who have seen him live or by way of outstanding results, that he might be a top 200 player.

2 semi finals from about 40 tournaments and few top 500 scalps at 21 that's all. Nothing to do with offending anyone. Josh should have won easily had he played his A game.

It is starting to look like Goodall's attempt to make it on the challenger tour last Autumn might have been his last shot at a breakthrough. It is obvious from his many comments that financial constraints are now a big factor in his scheduling and I don't think anyone would be surprised if he retired this year, especially if he doesn't get a Wimbledon wild card.

Feel sorry for Josh the financial issue must be affecting him. He needed good results in the home run to help challenger funds. I'd say he wouldn't have lost today and last time had the pressure been off. He also tweeted that the players had to pay for car park and gym use out of the paltry prize money. What a joke. Meanwhile uncle fat cat Roger and co are deciding what should go on the fine dining menu at Wimbledon.
