First breakpoints go to Colin/Paul and they convert the second: 4*-2

R2:  Colin Fleming & Paul Hanley (AUS) defeated (ALT) Pablo Andújar & Daniel Gimeno (ESP/ESP) by 3 & 2  smile

At least I got one of the two right! wink  The identity of the boys' QF opponents, Almagro & Petzschner or (2) Granollers & López, will be known in the wee small hours.

Good tidy victory, well done and long may it continue.

Fleming has now won two titles, reached the QF of a Master's, and probably would have gone even farther at Rotterdam had Marray not been injured. Each of these accomplishments was with a different partner, few of whom he had (I think) played with before ... and none of whom he'd played with recently to the best of my knowledge.

A pretty remarkable response to adverse circumstances. Well done.

Fleming & Hanley will play Peya & Soares in the QF.

Peya & Soares overcame (2) Granollers & Lopez 6-3 6-2 ( Almagro & Petzshner were the no 2 seeds' R1 opponents ).

The one remaining seeded pair, (1) Bryan & Bryan, are the first pair into the SF, winning a MTB in their QF.

Sadly, despite a decent fight back:
QF: Colin FLEMING/Paul HANLEY (GBR/AUS) lost to Alexander PEYA/Bruno SOARES (AUT/BRA) 3-6 6-4 [5-10]

Still, good weeks work.

Oops, I saw this last night, but neglected to post.

Yes, pretty good week ( and as Spectator said, with yet another partner for Colin ). Pity couldn't have just gone at least one step further.

Huey and Janowicz are into the final against the Bryans.

Getting Huey's ranking up further can only help the chances of him getting into more big tournaments with his I presume still preferred partner, Mr Inglot.

Actually, Indie, I opened this thread because I wondered if anyone had news about whether this was a temporary thing or a permanent one. My concern would be that if one reaches the finals of a Masters with one partner after several consecutive first round losses with another, there's got to be some thought about switching. I sincerely hope not, though.
