Boys: Yeltsin Cup, Russia - Grade 2 (Week 10)

Boris Yeltsin has been a major supporter of tennis in Russia, and this competition was launched a couple of years ago in Kazan to honour his 80th birthday. Samm Butler appears to have a favourable R1 draw, but last week's winner is in the same quarter.

R1 (L32)

(8) Samm Butler (GBR) v (WC) Timur Kiuamov (RUS)

Easy for Sam as expected and his next opponent he beat comfortably last week, but then it will become much harder.

R1 (L32)

(8) Samm Butler (GBR) d. (WC) Timur Kiuamov (RUS) 6-2 6-1

R2

(8) Samm Butler (GBR) v Mikhail Korovin (RUS)

Samm repeats last week's win, but will now have to overcome the 4th seed, who came through a tough sector of the draw. The fact that Desyatnik was involved in a long 3 setter may help Samm's chances of an upset

R2

(8) Samm Butler (GBR) d. Mikhail Korovin (RUS) 6-4 6-1

QF

(8) Samm Butler (GBR) v (4) Anton Desyatnik (RUS)

QF

(4) Anton Desyatnik (RUS) d. (8) Samm Butler (GBR) 6-2 6-3

Doubles Final

(1) Desyatnik/Khachanov (RUS) v Agarwal/Butler (IND/GBR)
