The top seeds in qualifying were 6th & 7th on the qualifying entry list. The Brits high up on the qualifying list who aren't in the qualifying draw are:
- Anna Fitzpatrick, who was 3rd Alt so must surely have got in - Sabrina Bamburac, who was 5th Alt so might just have got in without needing her wild card - Laura Deigman, who can't have got in direct (because she was below Adam & Baranska on the qualifying list) but might have got a WC if Sabrina didn't need it

I'm surprised we are yet to see Katy Dunne (and Eleanor Dean, if she's fit) in a women's event this year, as they are both Team Aegon funded and can't rely on their junior rankings to maintain the funding any more.

I think Katy is signed up for the 15ks in Bath and Sunderland, though without a ranking she may need a WC for both as last time I looked the entry lists were verging on decent 25k territory. Eleanor I assume is still injured?
Dominque and Brigit having a good battle. DC won the first set 6-2 and was 5-1 ahead in the second. However, Brigit fought back as DC failed to serve it out 3 times. Now into a tie-break and Brigit has again battled back from 3-6 to level things up in the TB. 6-6

Just had a look at the Sunderland entry list and as you say very strong but not quite as strong as Bath for obvious reasons. Also there is a certain Ana Konjuh( Korriban would certainly be interested) still on both entry lists and not even in the qualifying list given the depth of the fields.
Mel lost in 3 sets - her singles form has really gone downhill. Can she make a career from the doubles circuit via the challengers to start with that is financially viable?
