I'm afraid that link's duff, Bob! I've been waiting for the doubles draw to appea since yesterday evening & have just got it by going direct to the LTA site. For those too lazy to check, the pairings involving Brits are as follows:
R1: (1) David Rice & Sean Thornley WR 461 vs BYE
R1: Neil Pauffley & Marcus Willis WR 2077 vs Scott Clayton & Richard Gabb WR 1858
R1: (4) Timo Nieminen & Juho Paukku (FIN/FIN) WR 1613 vs Ashley Hewitt & George Morgan WR 1856

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I presume this means that Dan's entry is all very last minute and unplanned.....for those for in the know about how these things work, is a QWC for a highly ranked player like Dan indicative of
1. Being too late, somehow, for a MDWC
2. Dan himself preferring a QWC, not wanting to use up any of his allowance of 3 MDWCs on such a low level event, so early in the year. I believe each player can request upto 5 QWCs in addition.
3. Wanting some extra practice (seems unlikely)
4. Being refused a MDWC for some reason
Dan seemed to go completely off the radar for 4 weeks after he played in week 5: no tournaments played, no tournament entries between week 6 and week 12 inclusive (at least), no tweets, no word or news about an injury. One poster mentioned he was on holiday - not sure if this was reporting fact, speculation, sarcasm or something else. Anyway, this seems a strange, sudden and seemingly unplanned way to come back on the scene, so perhaps there was an injury issue. Anyone know
