That's rough for Laura - Veselinovic is the ex-top 350 player who beat her 2 & 3 in qualies last week. Naomi's opponent was top 800 in 2009, but hopefully not much of a concern.

No idea, but it won't be LTA - had a massive fallout a few years ago and went separate ways.

Well, that's a game more than last week against the same former top 350 player ...

Dear me - Naomi should be cruising through 10k's, but it seems she is really struggling at the moment, bar a couple of wins on a very quick court in Grenoble.

That result is certainly a shocker for Naomi even given her recent struggles

Very sad to have watched Naomi fall so far down the rankings and now this.

She clearly has the ability to be doing much much better.

Other than the fact that Lekaj is unranked, do we know anything else about her? She reached the Semi-final last week, beating the number 2 seed along the way, so maybe not the typical unranked youngster.

Agree with her having the ability to be doing better. Not sure about the much much bit, I fear

World junior no. 32 on the back of reaching the semis at the Trofeo Bonfiglio last year, though she hasn't got past the last 16 in any of the junior slams. This is the first time she has beaten anyone in the WTA top 400. The scoreline makes it even more shocking, but who knows what the circumstances were.
