RE: Week 9 - Great Britain F5 ($10,000) - Cardiff (Hard)

Can't really say a double breadstick defeat is a positive Jack had 2 fairly easy opponents too however Freddie is the best player left especially if Ward and Gabb go through it would be a very average British semi line up. Freddie's title to lose now really.

Corrie breaks back and could break again. 13/8 get on now.

Exactly. At his ranking level, or rather his target level of 150, he should NOT be playing $10ks, but whilst he does (even though he knows he shouldnt), any loss runs the risk of being some lucky recipient's CH scalp.

Interestin g comparison. James Wards ranking fell to almost 300 following injury. His approach to rebuilding his ranking was to go for AO qualies and Challengers. JG does the opposite. Money and funding is a big factor. I suspect confidence, gamestyle and ability is a bigger factor.

Corrie took the second and is a break up in the 3rd. Would be nice to see a Corrie-Nielsen final.

Nielsen is down to play Indian Wells (doubles with Dimitrov) according to the post in the entries and rankings section.  Shrewsbury can't really compete on warmth ... comfort ... prize money ... points ... (though it does have more interesting architecture)
(And apologies for an earlier misreading of your post)

Just looking at the entries for Shrewsbury next week - Nielson and Ward, Smethurst not down(latter 2in Lille 15K), otherwise generally a similar field to this week, bar Michon who will be the second seed. I wonder if Bloomfield will be fit to play? Definitely looks like another good opportunity for Ed Corrie to move up the rankings.

Looks like Rice and Thornley were in a hurry as they certainly stepped on the gasson
