Great to see Tara coming through these tough matches, backing up the big win against Brengle and continuing her hex over Pavlovic. I agree that Chirico must be getting tired, but having already played 6 matches here and won 4 of them from a set down, the fact that she didn't wilt having gone a set down against the top seed and managed to win from a set down for the 5th time means she must be remarkably fit, physically and mentally, so who knows ...
Tara is now likely to be in the top 220 on Monday week. She will also finish 3rd in the 'most WTA points by a Brit in the first 8 weeks of 2013' list behind Heather (290) and Laura (193), with 86 points to JoKo's 85 (though Jo added a few week 9 points with her QR1 win today, of course)

Interesting dynamic with the surprise final opppnemt, when Tara has been taking out seeds and higher ranked opponents for fun, to now undoubtably be favourite for the final. All the best to her.
Interesting Steven's stats on ranking points to week 8 so far. After Heather and Laura, and then Tara and JoKo 3rd and 4th on 86 and 85 points, there is quite a drop to Lisa and Emily, 5th and 6th with 21 and 18 points. Anne K is 7th on just 12 points.
It is very possible that these top 4 will become the overall GB rankings top 4 after the Indian Wells fortnight, especially if Tara wins the final here, with Anne and Bally having quite a lot of points coming off.
Could be an interesting next Fed Cup team, for on current form and fitness, Anne and Bally, so long the stalwarts, are not in GB's top 4.
Oh, re the jury that I had out as to whether this start to the year really represented the best period we'd ever seen from Tara, I hear that the jury is close to reaching a verdict, just wants to consider one "final" piece of evidence.
At present the Mexico 25K has 9 top 200 players entered, including Anne so Tara will have to raise her game again to get into the later stages. Bath is my nearest venue so I hope to go along and get some photographs.
Two challengers cancelled that week, so the field for Bath will probably be very strong.
There are only three top 200 players entered for the Bath 15K so far but there are so many middle ranked entries that Naomi, Mel, Jade and Emily are in the Alternates list. One unusual name for a GB event is Amanada Carreras in the Q list.

You stopped at 7th, but in 8th place for points this year is Anna Smith, who won't even be ranked until tomorrow!
All other things being equal (i.e. no injuries), I can't see Judy picking Tara over Anne for an away tie on clay, even if she is ranked higher by then. I think she'll value Anne's experience and I think her clay court record is better too. However, we could have Hev, Laura, JoKo and Tara as the mainstays of the Fed Cup team for some years to come, and that is an exciting prospect
