Whilst Tara may not be a 'morning' person, I'm not sure Laura is a late night person so I'm really hoping the match doesn't start too late. The combination of it being an evening match, and also that Laura has had an upset of being robbed (literally) recentl, I am rather apprehensive about the outcome of this match.

I'm with you a little on that one, but remember the match against Kivitova started about the same time and that wasn't such a bad result.

Julia. Love the icon/avatar - very cute!
I really think Laura has far too much power for Yulia, assuming she is back to her old self. But Putintseva is very consistent, so if the new Laura of recent weeks turns up, she may "beat herself". But at least it's probably going to be on Laura's racquet.
Not sure the conditions will suit Laura, tricky wind and apparently it feels like you are playing at altitude, so those players that hit it flat and don't play with much spin are hitting the ball long on a regular basis.
Laura has deleted her twitter account, not a great day, and according to this report she has been dealing with a recurring chest infection which she is going to see a specialist about when she gets back home.
Can't get link to work, basically she's tried several bouts of antibiotics but hasn't been able to shift the infection.

If it is disgruntled bettors in Laura's case too then they should be blaming themselves, not Laura ... and even if they do want to let off some steam about it (like we often do in BOTB, though then only in fun ... well, in my case anyway, I don't know about others!) actually tweeting trash directly at a player (especially a young female player) who has just lost a match is pretty disgusting.

Well done Ana Ivanovic - some Heather style closing out of her match means I have just got home in time to watch Laura.
No idea what to expect from Laura today - I'm hoping to at least see more energy and enthusiasm from her than last week. If her timing is off in difficult conditions then so be it.
Putintseva was impressive in that set, consistent from the baseline and pulling off a few aggresive shots when given the chance. Laura was inconsistent - good at times but very erratic at other times.
A close set though, with Laura's missed break points at 4-3 pivotal
