RE: Week 8 - ITF ($10K) - Helsingborgs, Sweden - Carpet, Indoor

Great stuff from Anna.

4 - 6 1 - 5 MP down wasn't the best position ! The GB girls around the globe have certainly been having "interesting" matches this week and the USA main draw contingent have still to get going.

Has been very difficult to see where our next top 500 player will come from, with the huge gulf in GB rankings after Emily. Still comparatively early days, but I reckon the next entry will probably be a reentry !

Great win from Anna.

Her mum is indeed Swedish, she I think has the option of playing for Sweden if she ever wanted to.

Why did Anna not have a protected ranking?  Do you have to be ranked above a certain level to get one?

Yes, you have to be top 300 for some reason. Anna was ranked 303 the week after her last tournament. cry

She should have a doubles SR of 134 though.

Anna managed to recover from a break down twice to win that 1st set but the 2nd has run away from her - Peterson has just taken it 6-1.

Anna serving for the match at 5-3 had a match point but was broken. I think she's doing this on purpose.

Does Anna ever have a simple straight sets game? We have yet another yo-yo match going on.

With Hev & JoKo we're not spoiled for agonising nail biters, but looks like we're adding another with Anna's return.

18yo Ellen Allgurin (WR830 - former JWR16) beat the 7 seed, and so is Anna's next opponent.
