Anna lost the first set 4-6 currently 5-4* in the second

Danielle lost 6-2 6-1.

Anna was involved in a very long game at 4-6 2-4 and saved a couple of break points before holding serve. She has since broken back and now leads 5-4* in the second set.

Disappointing score line but not a completely unexpected result given the fact that Peterson did much more as a junior than Danielle charger high in the 30s compared to Danielle's outside the 400s). I'm encouraged by Danielles start to the year as she seems to be finding some consistency at 10k level which I hope she maintains next week. I'm not so blindly patriotic to believe that we have a successor to Laura anod Heather in the form of Danielle but she could help to flesh out the 200-700 region of the rankings.

Not the news I hoped for.

I was more hopeful about Anna than Danielle, basically for the reasons PockyTastic gave regards Danielle.

Anna I thought would prevail, but she is still early on the road back. This week has been another step, hopefully there will be many more and bigger step ups to come.
