Looks like Oli has wihdrawn from the week 9 Spanish futures, although he is still on the acceptance list for the following week's tournament. Foot injury not healing quickly enough perhaps or maybe a WC request for Cardiff instead?

Damn cry

I see that although he has withdrawn from this week in Spain, Oli is still down for week 10 in Croatia, not Spain again as I said earlier.

Talking to Kyle's coach today - Colin Beecher - he confirmed that Oli's ankle is not fully recovered but that he is hopeful of making it to Croatia.

It seems a bit sad that there are no Brits playing qualifying in Cherbourg, which can't be much harder than Cardiff for some of them to get to. It doesn't make it any easier to argue for a GB hard court Challenger or two (though I still would argue for them!) when none of them try to qualify for a Challenger on indoor hard that is as close as this.

I agree Steven, it is a bit sad. Money seems to be a huge factor for many players at this level, I guess it is easy to forget that this is there job as well as there career. I am not suggesting the LTA bonus scheme should pay players for turning up at qualies, but I do wish the carrot was a better should they win matches here. Perhaps a bit more for qualifying with at least something for making final round? If not that excatly, something steeped to encourage players to step up a level financially more than it does now.

I was hinking th exact same thing when i saw the cherbourg qualies list. reallistically if 4 of them shared a car they would pay around £15/30 each for return boat travel. Probably not a lot more than petrol to Cardiff. Perhaps there is more heavily subsidised accomadation in UK?
