RE: Week 6 - Great Britain F4 ($10,000) - Wirral (Hard)

A quick video about this event http://www.baytvliverpool.com/vod/?vid=FBV510fdae941eca

It has an interview with Neal Skupski and for those of us who always wondered who that guy who often does the post-Final interviews at GB Futures is (the one with the very recognisable accent), it seems it's the TD, Richard Joyner ... who reminds us that Jerzy Janowicz was the runner-up here last year.

Good fight from Burton, break in the 3rd came from nowhere after both were holding comfortably and he had several break back points near the end

Corrie just keeps winning...

Brilliant!  Thanks for the link.  The ITF finally drags itself into the 21st century!  I can almost forgive it for all the irritating features of its revamped site in return for that! wink

Yes, it's it's hard to fault really.  Well done their digital team !!  They probably subcontracted that one though.

Actually, on reflection, I've come to feel that it can be faulted:  it shows the results from only two of the four courts (interestingly, the same two as those covered by Bet 365...), which means that we're still in the dark about the missing ones until the LTA's Twitter feed or the ITF main site or the Beeb sees fit to fill in the blanks! disbelief  furious  I guess half a loaf's still better than none, however... wink

Was Robert Carter the guy who someone on here described as a Justin Burner look-a-like? If I remember correctly Steven tweeted the description and Robert replied, I think with a positive reaction for some reason!

Haha, I'd forgotten about that comment but I did remember him coming back from a first set bagel last year to win. I was also impressed by my comments about Ed Corrie (and of course by my own modesty).

QF: (4) Dan Smethurst WR 387 v (6) Timo Nieminen (FIN) WR 391 - H2H 1-0

Thanks, for finding it, good to know I wasn't making stuff up! The 'Burner' was just an auto correct off my phone, nothing intentional, although given how activeboard seems to attract spam and irrelevant posts it was probably a good thing!

Ed Corrie has just taken the first set and couple be an all Brit semi final.

If Josh Goodall wants to progress - he needs to be winning 10K tournaments on a regular basis. Ed and Dan both seem to be in good form and could be very interesting semi's.

I'm now tempted to go down Saturday - it's only 30mins away from me.
