Who knows?   Maybe Fitzy softened him up yesterday, but who cares?

Looks as though Josh is going to prevail:  5-2* in the final set.  Alex is now involved in a tie-break with Bossel:  *3-2.

Alex loses the tie-break by 3-7.

L16:  (1) Josh Goodall WR 269 defeated (Q) Lewis Burton WR 729 by 6-4 3-6 6-3

... after a bit of a struggle to serve out the match.  Lost count of the number of deuces!

After a run of at least 4 points that were all mini-breaks, Bossel forged ahead in the tiebreak and won it 7-3

He's been building towards a result like this.

In Glasgow he beat Sean Thornley in qualifying before losing to Lewis Burton

In Preston he beat Richard Gabb and lost to one of the Griekspoor's in the FQR.

He had a wc in Sheffield and lost to Crepaldi in 3 sets. I think I had a few Groats on him to win that one.

This week he beat Ashley Hewitt amongst others in qualifying.

Ah, now I know who you mean (I assume the "Burner" is an attempt to prevent spam?)

It much have been SMC who used it first (*) but it seems I mentioned it in a later post, hence the confusion probably:

--------

SMC's going to hate me for this, but still amused by his rundown of yesterday's action, I tweeted the result as:

"Bath 15K: (Q) Robert Carter (described on the forum as 'a cross between Aled Jones & Justin B*%$#*', poor bloke!) KOd by Reinwein GER WR 629" (the blanks more to avoid unleashing a spam flood than anything else)

... and then saw:

@jessren94: "@GBtennis rob carter says thanks and what's wrong with justin b...?!"

------

That's from: http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t48212559/week-11-futures-gb-f5-15000-bath-hard/?page=10&sort=newestFirst

(*) And here's SMC's original post: http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t48212559/week-11-futures-gb-f5-15000-bath-hard/?page=12&sort=newestFirst

Ed is trying to make it a hat-trick of 2nd seed knockouts, having despatched (2) Evo in Preston and (2) Westerhof in Sheffield, and he is already a set up 6-4 against (2) Ehrat

The Brits are certainly making the (seeded) Swiss roll today! biggrin (igmc! ashamed)

George reports a loss to Josh, so it'll be Milton v Carter in the third quarter QF.
