cry

Huge battle from Fitzy, such a shame the tie-break was over so quickly.  Rosenholm really must have gone for broke.

JWH loses the first set to Chadaj by 4-6 (or two service breaks to one!).

L32:  (7) Adrien Bossel (SUI) WR 406 defeated (Q) Myles Orton WR 1155 by 1 & 2

L32:  (Q) Robert Carter WR 1927 defeated Joris de Loore (BEL) WR 556 by 3 & 4 biggrin

So two second-round pairings emerge:

L16:  Alex Ward WR 444 vs (7) Adrien Bossel (SUI) WR 406

L16:  (3) Patrik Rosenholm (SWE) WR 375 vs (Q) Robert Carter WR 1927

What a pity for Fitzy. Very unlucky to draw the Swedish no. 1 in R1 two weeks running but a huge improvement on last week, though not surprisingly he's not finding that much consolation at the moment:

"Went down 26 75 67. Just bought every room in the heartbreak hotel. Check out date, unclear."

That's an excellent win for Robert but can I ask where you got the result from? I can't see it on any of the usual sources.

Another one of our boys pipped at the post:

L32:  Adam Chadaj (POL) WR 544 defeated (WC) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1258 by 6-4 4-6 7-6(8) cry

Have to say, though, that JWH is some battler!

Goodall beat Gabb 4 & 5 and Corrie beat Findel-Hawkins 2 & 2. Only one result o/s (though the Carter win still hasn't been corroborated by anywhere except the BBC, which got the scoreline in another match wrong) so I'm going to try writing out the full list with rankings - better late than never!
