Naomi only got in to it when it was too late, as voracovas 61% total points won suggests a pretty one sided match. however, in BP's Broady 1/7 Voracova 5/5 - play the big points better not the most edifying outing to be sure - 'thrashed' & 'poor poor stuff' seems an over reaction against a higher ranked opponent though.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
The ranking point is a poor one. She beat a player inside the top 200 yesterday. Constantly making excuses about rankings and bugs going about don't wash for me. Another rankings slide towards 300. Only consolation is I had money on her opponent
Pity she couldn't build on that R1 win, but she did seem to fight very hard right at the end (far too late, but still) and Voracova seems to like these courts too - she had handed out a similar thrashing (3&1) to former top 40 player Beltrame in R1.

Totally writing off a player in a women's match has come back to haunt a few folk in the past, so quickly the momentum can change from a very poor position. Not to be today though.
Unfortunately with points coming off this week and with Naomi long past dropped into the 300s, she is now actually more heading towards WR 400 unless she can really begin to turn things around.
I think Naomi is lacking confidence at the moment. I hope she does not do an Amanda Elliott and slide into obsecurity, however bally and Annie struggled for years before making strides inside top 100 so all is not lost.
