Naomi was broken in the 7th game and ended up *3-5 down but has broken back and now leads 6-5*

Excellent!

If you look at the Ace/DF gap between both players, Naomi had a positive margin of +15 points i.e. 15 "net" free points where no rally took place, 10 from her own good serving, 5 from her opponents bad serving. At the end of the match, her points tally was 12 ahead of her opponent! So this really did make all the difference.

Philip - is the surface in Grenoble super fast? I presume this is why a fast and flat server like Naomi has done so well here, and less well elsewhere.

I want to see her win more regularly WITHOUT her serve being on fire, relying more on great groundstrokes and consistency, to complement her power...........but we'll take this result anyhow!

Naomi has a habit of dominating on serve at the start of matches......

.......it's what happens next that has started to be a less positive habit....

Hopefully today will be the start of a new NB!
