L32: (7) Johanna Konta WR 153 v Julia Glushko (ISR) WR 176 (CH 157 last Sep)

Probably the worst R1 draw JoKo could have got as a seed - the H2H is 0-4 (0-2 in juniors & 0-2 in seniors), including a 3 & 0 thrashing in the Lexington 50K Final last summer, though there are two 3-setters in that H2H as well. Still, her ranking has improved faster than Glushko's since then (from 235 and 220 respectively), so hopefully she can end her losing streak against her.

Just noticed from the OoP (she plays doubles tomorrow but not singles) that Glushko is also her doubles partner this week!

Well at least Jo has to be fresher this time than she was in the match last summer against Glushko, she'd had some crazy long matches that week I seem to recall, and was almost out on her feet come the final.

Yes, that's right. It may well be the first time she has gone into a match against Glushko ahead of her in the rankings too. Updating ...
