RE: Week 5 - WTA International ($235K) - Pattaya City, Thailand - Hard

A nice start for Hev, Babos had alot of game points/break point opportunities so scoreline could have been closer. I think Timea has been struggling with alot of niggly injuries over the last several months, certainly alot of her body parts were heavily strapped when I saw her at Edgbaston last year.

Sevastova will be tougher but Hev should still come through that.

Hev's dubs was cancelled due to rain which commenced shortly after her match finished.

Only dubs scheduled for tomorrow, probably around lunchtime or later.

I'll refrain from commenting about the above post ;)

Rain all day means that all matches have now been cancelled.

Owing to the backlog of matches they are now forced into an early kickoff tomorrow which sadly means Hev who is third on will probably start before 6am our time, dubs later.

First match on is resuming in the third set too, so little chance of Heather's match starting at a nice time. And I was thinking the Australian Open marked the end of WTA tennis at unsociable hours.

two early breaks are followed by 3 comfortable holds - 3-2*

and now two uncomfortable holds - 4-3*

Turning in to quite a battle now at 4-4. I fancy Hev to break if she can hold here though, it seems like the sort of set you want to serve first in.

And Sevastova holds to love for *5-5, so I'm not going to try and predict what will happen any more!

Heather comes through another tight game for 6-5* - can she pressure the Sevastova serve this time?

No. Tie-break time.

2-4* at the change of ends in the tie-break (though Hev has recovered one mini-break from 1-4)

*2-5 Ace from Sevastova

*3-5

3-6* Time for Hev to think back to the tie-break v Pervak

4-6*

6-7 (4-7) cry Another Ace from Sevastova - she hit one ace all set up to 4-2 in the tie-break and then two more to seal it.

Hev can still turn this around but if she does it will be a long match, which isn't ideal given the backlog of matches in this event.

A wash-out in Pattaya again. There was some play (including Ivanovic (1) getting knocked out ) but the match before Hev's stopped mid second set.

They are now at least playing again in Pattaya, with the match preceeding Heather's just about to start a final set.

Ah ! And it's only half 4 in Thailand so there's hope she will play.

Daniela Hantuchova was obviously concious of how far behind the tournament schedule is and kindly wrapped up the deciding set in 20 minutes so Hev should be on soon.
