I was thinking the same but didn't want to say anything unless she made an unlikely comeback. For a 19 year old, going on a run of 9 successive defeats must be really hard to cope with. I hope she can turn it around, after the Fed Cup of course (provided she is fit to play in it).
Sevastova next for Heather - I think Jo Konta beat her a few weeks ago but she will be in better form than Babos having come through qualifying.
Shame. I like Babos, and she is having a terrible time at the moment.
Possibly a case of the "second year" syndrome, where you break into the top 100, but then everyone gets to know your game, so you either move things on a level, or this starts to happen.
Happened to Heather to some extent early last year, but she battled through it. Could easily happen to Laura at some point this year.
Sevastova could be dangerous - formerly top 50, but 2 years in the doldrums - perhaps she's reignited the flames over the winter break.
Plays dubs later, must have a decent chance for another final. After R1, they would play Babos' pair, must be some doubt about their appearance, might get a w/o The Wongteanchai sisters beat the other seeds in Hev's half - Chan sisters. and that could be the SF Hev & Marina should have a reasonable road through if they play to form

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
In an attempt to add a bit to the points made about Sevastova in earlier posts ... she hit a career high of 36 in 2011 on the back of by far her best performance in a slam to date, reaching R4 of the Aus Open.
Her win against Doi today was her first in a WTA main draw since October 2011, though the first two of her R1 losses since then were by retirement and she has had plenty of wins in ITFs over the last year.
She is on a 3-match losing streak against Brits, having lost to Laura in 3 sets in Tokyo WTA qualifying in 2010, in straight sets to Bally at Prague ITF last year and in 3 sets to JoKo in QR1 at this year's Aus Open.
