Week 5 - ITF ($25K) - Burnie, Australia Hard

Hope Emily can get back to some better form this year.

Q1: Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) 466 [q7] vs BYE

Q2: Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) 466 [q7] vs Yana MOGILNITSKAYA (RUS) 975 (CH 970)

H2H: 0-0

Yana is 17 on Feb 5th, and seems based in Australia, as that's where she played all 7 of her pro events to date. She beat WR 528 in R1 of a 25K last time out.

Em's gotta win these kind of matches though.

It can't always be the case that Brits get drawn against massively under ranked college sleepers or future world beaters on the rise as seems to have been the explanation a lot recently.

You either beat the player on the other side of the net or you don't.

Good. Now hope the sun doesn't come out tomorrow, or is at least occluded, and Em can pick up the 8 points.

Oh, dear. Would love to see Ms Webley-Smith do really well. Ah well. "Next week is another week" (What Scarlett O'Hara would have said had she been a tennis player)

Very impressive doubles win in the first round for Mss Slater and Sanders.
