talking about late bloomer, Li Na said she was never thought she could make it to the top, so she went to finish college and played some college tennis. Then when she got a bit more mature (she was 20 something) she started feeling stronger and more passionate about tennis, only then she decided to give it a try again. Here and now we can see how she is!

Amy beat Sam's conqueror Moratelli 2 & 3 today. Tara leads the H2H 3-1, including a 4 & 3 win in the QFs last week.

Does anyone know Tara's plans after this round of 10Ks? I am guessing she is using these as warm ups for a later foray into higher ranked tournies...

She's going to Rancho Mirage in California for 2 x 25K's. Sam, Lisa & Mel are also down for the 1st one, and Johanna joins them for the 2nd in a stronger field. I wouldn't be "surprised" (sorry) if they head to Arizona afterwards.

While Murray is battling in Melbourne, in it's twin city of Preston, Tara has just been broken at the start of the first set. 1-2*

They exchanged breaks halfway through the set and Tara broke again as Bowtell served for the set. However, Bowtell has broken again and will serve for the set again. 5-6*

It's a break fest. Tara break again and then takes the tie-break 7-2. She then breaks again at the start of the second set only to be broken back straight away. 7-6(2) 1-1*

Great to see Tara get a good start to the year, unusually for her with previous early year form and injury issues.

No ranking points to defend until June. Get to these bigger tournaments now and get moving on that top 200 !

Nice back to back titles for Tara, as Indy says potential big ranking gains possible as usually Tara is injured at this stage of the year.
