Good to see a Swiss losing to a Briton -- hope that if there is another match featuring said nationalities it goes the same way. Jesting aside, well done to Ward-Hibbert. That looks like a good win.

I think Sean Thornley may have won as well. He was up 6-2 6-5 on Bet365 when it disappeared. I am hoping that is good news.

Hmm. The players on two doubles teams that could possibly face each other in the 2nd round can count between them 3 ATP titles, 3 ATP finals and a GS QF. Just the norm for your GB 10,000 tournament ... (or not, as the case may be).

Looks like some very interesting first round matches:

Goodall vs Pauffley
Evans vs Rice
Morgan vs Smethurst

All brits against non-brit opposition generally have very winnable matches as well

Willis in the same quarter as Goodall this week

Willis a WC? Thought he'd have an SE?

An SE would only apply if he was still involved in a main draw match on the same day qualifying started. As qualies started yesterday and his final was on Saturday, an SE wouldn't be available. Therefore, a WC was the best he could've hope for.
