According to her tweets Katy's injury has been healing well this week to allow her to play in the main draw on Sunday. Her draw is reasonable for this level, but nevertheless testing, against an opponent ranked around 750 WTA. Harriet has a nightmare draw against the US Open finalist, who is already inside the WTA top 400. Her match is scond on court 10 tonight
Looked dodgy when Kontaveit had BP at *2-3, but Harriet fighting hard. Looking et their profile pics, these two could very easily be sisters, twins even!
Kontaveit reached the US Open girls' Final and lost in the semis of the previous two junior slams to the eventual winners, Genie Bouchard (now WTA top 150) and Annika Beck (now WTA top 75), so that looks like a decent effort from Harriet to me.

Absolutely. I wondered if the 'editors' had used two different photos of the same girl, by mistake !
Katy Dunne won 6-1 6-2 A rather remarkable match, though not perhaps for entirely positive reasons. Katy broke her opponent 7 times, that means that the only three games that Pairone won were also all breaks, in fact the Italian converted 3/3 BPs. 10 breaks in total in the 15 games. Katy only served at 49% and only won 39% of her 2nd serve points.
Perhaps a simple 'well done', for a GS win is the best policy
A very good win for Katy considering she can't be sure that her body will allow her to play 100% at present (hip injury could have affected her serving power). Pairone's best results are on clay, where serve is less of a factor.
Neil Harman: "Good to see GB's Katy Dunne win her opening singles in junior girls, though Italian girl no great shakes, especially overhead ".
Next up is a girl who was a finalist recently in the Asian closed Grade 1 and has won a 10K event, but still a decent draw for the second round of a slam
