The result of Ward-Hibbert's match (against Christian Schultz) has not been reported but tomorrows OOP indicates that it was played today. Presumably it was still being played when the LTA reported the results to the ITF

popped in very briefly - one notable result I can report that might be of interest is that Neal Skupski beat Kevin Griekspoor WR-702 (Q2) 6-4 in the 3rd. I can't be totally sure - I started watching with the scoreboard reading 5-4 to Skupski (if it helps to confirm: he looked an inch or two shorter than the other fellow!)

At what I assume was 15-30 he hit a cheeky ace down the middle on 2nd serve, and later an ace out wide to save a bp, after a few deuces he took it.

And its back to inept updating of their own events by the LTA because there's a slam on.

In fairness the days play might not yet be complete. 2nd round qualifying didn't start unitl at least 14:00 and with 3 matches on most of the courts chances are there are some still being played.

Recalling that Neal Skupski had had quite a good US collegiate career, I searched through Zootennis to see his (and others') results. He reached the quarterfinals of the championships in singles last year, retiring through injury (a bad fall) towards the end of a competitive match with Steve Johnson (he who just took Almagro to five sets). As far as I could tell from "searching" with the likely candidates' names, no one else got that far in the US tournaments in singles, though Mr Inglot was seeded in the singles and won the doubles and Mr Skuspki (K) got to the round of 16 in singles (lost to John Isner) and was a doubles finalist, again losing to John Isner and partner. Ed Corrie (who, as with the younger Mr Skupski, might do well over the next year) was nationally ranked in singles and doubles ...

Does anyone have more scientifically (or at least methodically) obtained results for comparison?

PS: In these "searches" I found the list of matches won by Somdev Devvarman for the 2007 US collegiate title -- QF Arnau Brugues, SF Kevin Anderson, F John Isner. Not bad preparation for the Tour.

Skupski tweeted to say that he lost to Aswat. Morgan tweeted to say that he won.

ot end in the summer? Or am I missing something?

I think people generally start in Autumn and end in Summer. But I believe that there are times (as here) when someone will need an extra term or two to finish up for particular reasons ... perhaps they do a dual degree, or take time off at some point during their career. Perhaps that's the reason?
