This is the first time we have had three Brits in R3 of singles at a slam since Wimbledon 2002 and the first time we have had two British women in R3 of a slam since the 1991 US Open. (I'm rather proud of beating the WTA stats guy to that one by a few minutes wink)

Someone asked me on Twitter the last time a British woman reached R3 of a slam. Of course, the answer was "yesterday" biggrin

One more stat to add to this that I suddenly realised I had better check - Laura is the first British woman to reach R3 or better in singles at consecutive slams for 26 years, since Jo Durie did it in 1986/7. (in fact, assuming the slams were held in the same order back then, Jo managed it at three slams in a row - Wimbledon 1986, US Open 1986 and Australian Open 1987)

British Eurosport 2 are listed as showing 'highlights' from 8.15, so will probably show most of the match. If you don't have that channel or Eurosport Player then google 'British Eurosport 2 live stream'.

Laura 2-6 2-1*

Considering both are top 50, and 1 is a GS champion, this is the worst tennis I think I have ever seen at this level.

Kvitova is REALLY poor at the moment....must be there for the taking if Laura plays like she can.....

 Now 4-1*. laura still serving very poorly and not playing close to her best but a break up. Really says how Kvitova is playing
