How on earth do you give up 15 break points in a set???? Min 3/15, Anne 2/4
I'll edit here, to avoid messing up a commentary. I make it Min has won more points on Annes serve than her own. Not sure I've ever seen that before a set and a half in!

AK breaks to 40 having seen 3 bps saved *1-0 AK broken to 15 1-1 AK breaks to 15 (working backwards from the stats) *2-1
AK holds serve to love 3-1*
GM holds to 40 *3-2
AK holds to 30, having had 40-0 4-2*
AK breaks to 40 *5-2 GM has struggled to win points behind her first serve in this set 40% compared to 70% in the opening set
AK df to go 15-40 down then broken to 15 5-3*
GM 15-30 then 40-40 but holds to 40 without having to face a set point *5-4
AK recovers to 30-15 then saves bp. A df leaves her facing another bp. Missed first serve. Broken to 40 5-5*
GM saves bp before eventually holding *5-6
AK saves mp before being broken to 40 5-7
AK loses 5-7 5-7 having served for the first set once and the 2nd set twice. As Insomniacfolder mentioned some weeks ago, Anne especially, needed a fast start to the season.

Well she wasn't very dangerous when I saw Laura beat her at Birmingham this year Even on an upward curve unless Anne is is doing one of her 'self combustion' acts I would have thought she had no chance. (I am saying this without having checked any of her recent results though)
Off topic, I see that Birmingham has been upgraded to a Premier tournament from 2014 - makes a lot of sense as this tournament is the only International event with a 56 draw, leading to less ranking points for winning a round than the ITF in the same week.
Meanwhile I've been watching the live feed and I've just seen one of the most one-sided sets ever. Not seen Cristina Mitu before but she looked very impressive winning the first set against Sally Peers for the loss of just 4 points.

I was there last year (and met up with a few other BT.netters).
A lot of money has been invested there over the last couple of years with new indoor courts area opened last summer (2012) and they'd build the bones of the new show court which due to open this coming summer. It is slightly sunken and will hold 2500 spectators once they've added additional seating for the Aegon Classic.
I heard someone say they'd like to get a DC tie played there but as it's grass and there isn't a roof I'm not sure how they'd manage that in a wet British summer although it'd certainly be an interesting alternative to Eastbourne for a July tie!.
There's still work ongoing to finish tidying up the remaining courts (which were in an awful state last year) and upgrade other areas of the grounds but it looks as though the old showcourt is being buld over. The only problem I can see is parking for events like the WTA event in June; it's OK if dry but when wet the fields get very slippery!
By 2014 it'll be looking very good indeed and well ready to cope with the WTA status upgrade. This link takes you to the new development information. http://www.edgbastonpriory.com/main.asp?id=54
