Big shame. Jamie's clearly fit and well, and playing to a strong standard. He fought off 11 break points in his last match, so benefit of the doubt has to be given.
Frustrating we couldn't see how he played when serving for the first set, and again the second set. As has been said, he's so rarely put himself in these crunch positions in the past, that he's going through the sort of learning curve that Andy, Laura and Heather probably went through in seasons past. They have taken tough defeats against players they could have beaten, so are much more savvy now about how to get over the line.
I just hope Jamie can keep putting himself in these type of situations more frequently throughout the season, and Im sure he will start winning his fair share.
Good tournament, nonetheless.
