He was apparently on the Beeb's Breakfast show this morning & also did a couple of BBC radio interviews - & today's his 28th birthday! There's to be an all-star doubles exhibition, "Rally against cancer", on finals day at Queen's this year to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity which will involve both Andy Murray & Tim Henman - Ross's way of thanking staff at the Royal Marsden, where he's being treated, for their kindness. There's more on the LTA's Queen's/Aegon page, but the bloody site won't let me make this post if I include the link!
I'm sure I saw a link to a Daily Mail article on Hutchins somewhere on this board, but can't find it. At any rate, he seems to have spoken to a number of journalists - and The Guardian version of the article is very strong.
great news about Ross today officially in remission
Andys win probly the best medicine you could get :)
keep fighting son and see you soon back on tour
What this morning's Metro claims is an exclusive interview with Ross. Couldn't stop myself grinning as I read it on the Tube on the way in! I guess Jonny must be actively seeking a new partner now... I sincerely hope he manages to identify a really decent replacement for Colin.
Haven't had time to watch the whole of the ATP programmes from the World Tour Finals, but from the bits I've seen, Ross Hutchins is superb on TV. Really impressive (often much more so than his co-host). And great for raising the profile of doubles and giving insights into the various partnerships.

Ross is apparently set to return to competitive tennis at the Brisbane International, in harness with Colin, on the 29th of this month , according to the Beeb.
Nice interview in today's Times for anyone inclined to shell out £1.20 for the print edition of £1 for a 30-day trial.
Interesting comment on his & Colin's performances in the two tournaments preceding the AO:
The last couple of weeks Flembo and I have practised well; we played a great set and a half [in Brisbane] and then my level dropped a bit on serve. In Auckland, we lost a very tight first-set tie-break and then one break in the second. It's just the little things, 5 or 10 per cent, and that will come from playing matches.
Ross Hutchins has been appointed new tournament director of the Aegon Championships. Hutchins, who returned to action this year with doubles partner Colin Fleming after recovering from Hodgkin's lymphoma, will combine the role with his playing career, although the position will exclude him from competing in the tournament at London's Queen's Club. "I am honoured to have been given this opportunity," said the 29-year-old. "The Aegon Championships is one of the longest running and best tournaments on the ATP World Tour and I will do everything I can to make it even better."
Quite a turn-up for the books! Bet his dad's proud! I wish him every success in the venture. Colin will just have to find himself a new playing partner for that week, though he shouldn't find that too difficult. Jonny M, perhaps, if he doesn't enter with Paul Hanley?

I was thinking more along the lines of a guy called Andy Murray. But whether he would risk playing doubles so close to wimbledon is another matter.
There's an extended article by OEM in today's Times, but, one way or another, you have to be prepared to pay for it. Sample - & telling - quote from Ross: "These last few months have been life-changing. I'm lucky and I'm privileged and I don't feel as though I've been thrown into the deep end."
OEM also describes him as "one of the tour's nice people" & comments on the implications of that fact...
Well ending by getting to a GS semi isn't a bad way to go out. And he has so many options open to him: a highly professional, intelligent, articulate, and (it would seem) genuinely nice person to work with (I've never heard anyone say a bad word) who's already a tournament director ...
He's also due to get married soon, isn't he? Be nice to be able to start married life by staying in the same place as your spouse for more than the odd week at a time.
One can only thank him for all the inspiration and good play (and kindness to this board ... way back when ...) and wish him all the best.
