Week 2 - ATP 250 - Auckland, New Zealand

I can't find the qualifying drawsheet yet, but the OoP on the app suggests Colin is having a go at qualifying here:

QR1: Colin Fleming UNR v Michal Mertinak (SVK) WR 854 (CH 129 in 2005)

It's on the new ATP live scoreboard, you can get draws and schedules as well as live and completed matches.

Colin is 2nd on albany 5 court, the start is 10am local time.

1st matches have now begun showing on live score -  so Colin should be on in 1 - 1.30 hrs, after Zivkovic and Middlekoop.

It's going to a tie-break for the 3rd set.
Mertinek gets a minibreak straight away for *0-1.

I see a few other doubles guys are getting in on the Qualifying draw. Soares lost to Michael Russell but Andre Sa is a set up on Daniel Gimeno-Traver. Sa his here to partner Jonny Marray so is probably looking for some match practice ahead of their first tourney together this year.

Ooooh, come on Flembo! Takes the next 2 points against the serve. Holds the next for 3-1 and then serves a double fault so it's all with serve at the moment and Mertinak at *2-3. But Col breaks again so *2-4 at the change of ends.

Hello raindelay.

Colin wins 7-6 6-7 7-6

Mertinak kept double faulting at inopportune (for him) moments.

Might as well see this out before getting a few hours sleep ahead of the Murray match around 04.00.
Mertinak held for 3-4.
Fleming held for 5-3 and needs just 2 more points for the match.
Mertinak held 4-5 but then dropped his serve for 4-6. 3 match points to our Brit.

GSM Colin Fleming!!!
7'6(4), 6'7(1), 7'6(4) and by 137 points to 138.

Not sure who he plays next ...

Very close game, with Colin winning 137 points in total to Mertinak's 138. Now just needs to beat big Igor to get a world ranking again.
