RE: The new WTA website

not as good as the old per country lists, but you can index each page of 100 players by clicking on the colum titles now - except DOB that onw don't work for some reason

as they've added the nationality column you can at least group all GB's together on each page, and see them easier. i suppose a search would of done the same thing though but some progress. Doing it 20 times woudlbe a right pain though

you can also get the entire 1150 member rankings list as a official pdf in the click of one link now
the link is on the rankings singles pages in the same line as the search box and the output format is very good
if you get a pdf to excel converter (ie acrobat) you can import it and then just sort the whole lot in excel, which would be a pretty quick process overall (???)

Going down the pdf with a "GBR" search is quicker than going through 12 pages and sorting each one or messing around in Excel. The thing is, though, all I used to need to do was go to the rankings page, pick GB from the countries list, copy and paste, which is much quicker than any of the other options, so why do the WTA think it is an improvement to make this so much harder to do?!

Same with ITF of course, even months after their big "enhancement", it remains much harder to use, slower and contains inconsistencies that the old site didn''t.

I've just found http://www.tennisearth.com/rankings/tennisAllRankings.htm which does have a per country search. Unfortunately, the per country results list is less detailed than the full rankings lists; however, it does put all the WTA & ATP singles & doubles rankings for the country on one page.

note: You have to search for 'United Kingdom', not 'Great Britain'. Don't know if that means we get some additional Northern Irish players!

The WTA site now includes a country selection button and a date selection button.

At present it doesn't allow you to perform a simultaneous country and date selection and when I tried to access rankings for 18/2/13 it couldn't access rankings between 401 and 500, so there are still improvements and bugs to fix.

Yep, I noticed that last week too, and am glad that it's going in the right direction.
