(But the sceptical have said, with detox drinks etc, that's not surprising)

Quite a lot of people speculating that it wasn't performance-enhancing drugs but recreational ones (it was 8.15 pm, in the off season, it's not an unreasonable assumption)

I'm not commenting really on that but:

The anxiety attack about unknown person / Kvitova style threat etc is suspect, IMO, because she allowed the woman in, she made her wait, she signed her forms (the form to refuse the test). She didn't call the police, a friend, a family member 

And posted about it on Insta (not the anxiety - just the intrusion of testers turning up)

You wouldn't do that - IMO - if you genuinely feared it was an unknown attacker. Or you were having a fullblown panic attack.

Ummm Enhanced games only one world record broken

How do you interpret this? Is the juice worth the squeeze or is everybody juicing anyway we know performance enhancing drugs enhance performance so why arent records tumbling

When they shopped the East Germans throwing distances tumbled except for those of Judy Oakes became a medal contender!

 Precisely. It's a pity even one WR was broken ( well a performance ahead of what remains the legitimate WR was managed ).

 Precisely. It's a pity even one WR was broken ( well a performance ahead of what remains the legitimate WR was managed ).

 that guy wasnt even doping was he?! I am sure I read his enhancement was a special kit that is banned, not sure he took any drugs.

Whole thing is an farce.

As a kid loved athletics David Jenkins was my hero the star of British Athletics that turned out well but it took a while
In my teenage years big fan of cycling superstar came back after highly toxic chemo almost enhanced and dominated the sport,

Sad to say in all things physiological if the results are so good you cant believe your eyes they are too good to be true.


the testers have always been so far behind the users.

Didn't really want to start a new thread so decided this was the most appropriate place. WTA to start sex testing finally. Thanks to Martina and Sabalenka, no thanks at all to BJ King. Unfortunately, because it took so long for them to bring this in, it is potentially going to out people but the integrity of the sport and fairness for Women outweighs that.

 Are there any players actually under the spotlight or who might be anticipated to be spotlighted by this testing? Referring to your point about it potentially outing people?

I was a big fan of Kyrgios in his early days, just feel now he wasted a talent - as well as being a questionable character in many ways.

As SC's later BBC article link says, under current rules if Kyrgios can prove that he took it outside of a competition the ban would just be 3 months. And Russell Fuller has further said on Radio 5 Live that if that was the case and he also entered into a rehabilitation programme it could be just one month. The ruies have evidently changed since Dan Evans' case.

Still of course he has hardly played in recent years but he has said that he is reluctant to call time on his career

Yes the rules have changed, by introducing a violation out of competition. Use of cocaine out of competition was not an anti doping violation at the time of Dan's case. His violation was in competition when residue in his wash bag had contaminated his medication he took in competition.

I haven't read the article but if he tested positive during a competition then surely it's a 1 year ban no matter the circumstances. It could only be a 3 month ban if it was an out of competition test where the tester turned up at the players designated place for their 1 hour whereabouts test or just a random test at home.
