If Halep hadnt beaten her in the Wimbledon final, serena would have 8 titles.

Suggests Serena thinks she is guilty? And Serena was coached by a certain coach so maybe knows stuff

Can her titles be taken away from her?
For me her Wimbledon victory will always feel a fraud now.
I feel sorry for Serena if she was robbed that day but I guess we will never know.

Seemingly the independent tribunal received approximately 8000 pages of scientific and other evidence from the player and the ITIA. That would have taken some reading.

Isn't the argument that the Wimbledon final was played in 2019 but the failed test was in 2022.

The anti-doping regimes are so routinely behind the organised dopers that you have to believe it's a lot more widespread than just those that have been caught.

I don't buy Halep's defence any more than I bought Errani's, Sharapova's, Haddad Maia's, Spears' et al.

Re the idea of awarding the title to the losing finalist if both the winner and loser fail a drug test in future years what would they do then? I'm thinking there was a French final between Sharapova and Halep. It is easier in athletics to take a medal away from athletes failing drugs tests.

The Tour de France left the titles won by Lance Armstrong vacant given doping was so widespread in cycling at the time they couldn't be sure the runners up in those years aren't at it as well.

Taking her title away and giving it to Serena is not the answer. Halep played 6 other Women before getting to the final, all of who may have been cheated out of a place in the next round. The entire half of her draw is potentially corrupted.
In all sports, the competitors displaced earlier in the event are always overlooked.

What about her win in Toronto in August 2022? If you take a title away surely that would be a prime candidate.

Im not sure anyone has seriously said strip her of titles, they didnt do it with any other dopers in tennis in the past. I think Serena (and Im not a Serena fan, far from it!) was just making a point that this robs other players
