Gabashvili banned for 20 months. As he is 36, possibly a career ender.

Was bound to get done for something eventually. As I saw from someone on twitter, it is like catching Al Capone for tax evasion...good riddance

I think you've got the wrong guy, no? It was the Georgian Basilashvili who was accused of abuse, no? Not the Russian guy

yes and no. Yes, youre right. No as in Gabashvili has been a known match fixer for many years with loads of videos around- it was just a case of catching him but seems the doping got him first.

basilashvili is bad but in Other ways!

You can search and see his name crop up over many years and many times. More than any other player probably

Varvara Lepchecko has been banned until 2025 for a doping offense. Not the first time her name has cropped up.

This is not a current case but  a ban from 2 years ago not mentioned at the time. The player Ashley Kratzer was the US national girls champion of 2017. She was a given a wild card for the 2017 US Open  where she lost 6-1 6-1 to Tatjana Maria. That was her only Grand Slam singles appearance(very fleeting) and the rest of her career was spent entirely on the ITF  circuit from 2016 to 2020. Her highest singles ranking was 200.  She was charged with anti doping violations on 18th   March 2020 having tested positive in   a tournament  she was playing in   on 27th January. She finished up with a 4 year ban from 28th March 2020 to 27th March 2024.

As reported elsewhere, sadly, Tara has been found to have a positive A sample

I notice that the Daily Telsgraph has had to make an apology and pay damages to  the Yastremska family over an article on May 14. I  assume it must be from 2021 and not 2022. Proves  in cases like this the papers need to be careful what they are writing   before the final judgement is made.  Mind you the family could probably make  a fortune if they sued  people making  some of the comments on the subject on the Tennis forum in the first 6 months of last year.

So that's effectively taken nearly 8 months. Quite a time if you might possibly be embarking on a similar process

Thinking of Tara - in this case and also Farah of Colombia, its

taken 7 months to be found innocent. Tara faces a long haul ahead. Do they get any compensation if found innocent for loss

earnings potential?

Basic answer is no! Not seen anybody try to take this through the courts.

Edit - youl'd have to think about costs.

WHEELCHAIR DOPING BAN

A major scandal in wheelchair tennis on Friday when France's Stephane Houdet, who has five Grand Slams in singles and 19 in doubles - as well as three Paralympic doubles golds - was banned for 15 months for three missed anti-doping tests in a one-year period.
