British interest very quickly wrapped up in Dubai then! Thanks for the scores.

Tara couldn't capitalise and win a round, 6 points is OK, but 20 would have helped to start insuring against that concentration of points from Kazan - the single big week to defend syndrome.

Probably 5000 miles too far for Sam. A shame.
Regarding Indiana's point above, didn't Sam also beat Mitu (199) en route to the title in Glasgow?
The general point is sound though, a remarkable leap forward, and I hope she has finally found something that works for her, and can continue to be competitive and successful at the new rarefied heights. But, we need to remember just how recently a win against #300 in the world would have been seen as a very good result for her.

Err yes. I am getting quite unobservant at times these days wink OK, she's actually beaten 4 top 200 players, and 2 top 198 players, one this year ( a top 100 player). I think smile
