Will take her into the GB top 20 on Monday week ( and GB no 18 on 19 ranking points if she wins her semi final ), which while she has done very well more really highlights the awful lack of depth, after about the first dozen, in GB women's tennis just now, even allowing for such as Sarah Borwell nicking so many players to American colleges. and a few long term injuries. Actually even tails off after the top 20, GB No 25 has 3 ranking points !
I know, it's a real shocker and keeps getting worse - this week was the first week that just 3 points has been enough to get in the GB top 25 (Jess Ren is just above the other players on 3 points on tiebreak because she has 1 point from a main tour event - a qr1 loss in Birmingham) and on Monday, when another point comes off Alexandra Walker's total, all 5 Brits who are equal last on the ranking list (i.e. 3 points from 3 ITFs) will share 25th place (you'll see how I get around not giving them all separate lines when the new table comes out) and it will get worse again when one of Nicola George's points drops off on Monday week.
On Monday week you will also have to cope with the addition to the rankings of Danielle Konotoptseva

Yes, I know (and that's good, obviously ), I was meaning another drop in the number of ranked Brits with more than the minimum 3 points.

We already have JoKo, so Steven can call Danielle "DaKo" and be done with it.
I agree with all the comments about the points/world ranking needed to make the GB top 25, for men versus women (under 740 men over 1100 women). How this is changing over time recently (better for men, worse for women). And its even more interesting to compare this against some of the other European "tennis nations". For example you needed to be top 230 world ranking to make the French men top 25 a few weeks back!!! Scary.
Would be interesting to see a weekly tracker chart of how the men and women are doing on this, and how its changing over time (for better and worse) - its a brilliant measure of "strength in depth". I could easily imagine that to make the GB men's top 25 next year you'd need to be top 625-650 in the world - assuming Bambridge, Broady, Hewitt, Morgan and a few others keep on pushing.
There would be a justification for making the tables fb players in the top 1000, no?
Yes, that's the kind of thing I'm thinking of, but it would have to be a double cut-off (i.e. top 1000 and also in the GB top 25), otherwise I'd have to include 34 of the men now and I don't want to increase the size of either table any further (even if it temporariliy decreases the size of the other one) and that would still mean finding a new name (or changing it every few weeks), if you see what I mean.
