SF: Alex Bogdanovic WR 369 vs. (7) Jack Sock (USA) WR 165
Sock won the Tiburon challenger earlier this year and reached the last 32 of the US Open, he beat Boggo in straight sets in January 2011 on the American clay Futures.
not wanting to think too far ahead, but to win this whole thing Alex will need to set up a serious yank bashing streak, but if, if if he does, that would put him right back in contention with Baker and Ward rankings wise.

so it is a repeat, of the bad kind. sock wins 64 63.
some very iffy line calls in the match. 2 aces called in that last game for sock, and especially in the 1st set, the unpire overruled a point on the far basline against alex. alex didnt even realise till after the next point too!
i guess it was always going to be tough to beat 5 amewrians in a row with home advantage.
good week by alex, he played ok in that match, was just punished by some sloppy points. sock served really well too.

Probably too much expectation on his shoulders, if we had the depth of talent of say France or Spain, i'd say Boggo would probably have reached the top 100
