From the partial list of winners just tweeted by the LTA (no scores), Barbat upset Anna F so will play Jade in the FQR, Lauren and Brigit also lost and we still seem to be awaiting Nicole's result.

Sadly, I predict at best one GB winner. I wouldn't be surprised by zero though. Delighted if proved wrong.

On rankings we should get 2 winners, Anne and Naomi.

so the optimist in me says 3 winners, as I think Tara stands a chance of winning!

how do they decide wildcards what has Amanda Elliott and sAbrina Bamburac done to deserve wild cards ? Do they live beside Barnstaple?

I wonder what happened, Johanna was on the original list and isn't listed as having withdrawn so it must have been a late decision.

Johanna officially ended her season and started her holiday on the 27th. 3 weeks rest and then back to training apparently. She must have been satisfied with her year of good progress.

Must have been a Clerico error.

I'm assuming she isn't 100% fit, otherwise I'm sure she would have played here. Her thigh was strapped last week.

Terrible draw for Tara, decent draw for Anne and Naomi.
It looks like a field with a few tough top seeds in good form but not much depth.

0-40 on Jade's serve but she saves all 3 break points ... only to then get broken again anyway.

I've watched the start of the 2nd set on the bet365 stream (also available on the LTA site) and Jade's really having a go, mixing it up a lot and generally looking the more accomplished player, but Barbat is like a brick wall, getting to everything even if she doesn't do much with the ball when she does get to it. Given the scoreline, it seems she doesn't need to.

Watching after they changed ends, it's pretty clear Barbat puts a lot more power on the ball than the Jade does, pushign the ball very deep, which is no doubt what is making the difference.

Even so, 0-6 0-5* doesn't seem a fair reflection of the play I've seen!
