RE: Week 44 - ATP Masters 1000 - BNP Paribas Masters - Paris (indoor hard) - doubles

Well they managed to go through the whole game without getting broken (and in fact only facing one break point). Let's hope they can finish it off

6-4 6-6

Well I got a bit distracted there but

R2:  Paul Hanley (AUS) & Jonny Marray beat (1) Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) 6-4 6-7 10-5

Wow! biggrin    Absolutely bloody brilliant!

Josselin Ouanna & Nicolas Renavand (FRA/FRA) (WC) or Melzer & Paes (6) in the QF.

I see in the Mail today that Nielsen/Marray wont be together in 2013 as Neilsen wants to concentrate on singles

That was covered in an interview with him in The Sunday Times at the weekend.  He's apparently advertised for a permanent partner for next year in the "players only" section of the ATP site.

I wonder whether Paul Hanley has any commitments with other partners next year &, if not, whether Jonny's given any thought to asking him. wink  They certainly seem to have hit off in Paris! smile

How lovely. I think the Bryans are one of the best things ever to happen to doubles and admire them hugely. But the idea of their thinking "Oh no! Jonny Marray!" when they see a draw has a certain charm.

A bit of a turn-up for the books:

QF:  Paul Hanley (AUS) & Jonny Marray vs (WC) Josselin Ouanna & Nicolas Renavand (FRA/FRA)

A chance of progress to the semi for Jonny & Paul, I'd've thought, but the Frog WCs disposed of the sixth seeds in straight sets (7-6(5) 6-4) in the second round, so are clearly not to be underestimated on their home turf!

Sorry Helki,  long posts or posts with links in them keep getting marked as spam and have to be approved by a moderator (see thread in general discussion). The problem did seem to have resolved itself but has come back tonight.

I think you will have to stop posting off board smilies if you want your posts to appear straight away until activeboard stop its stupidness.

So far, so good:  first set in the bag by 7-6(6). smile  *2-3 in the second.
