luke's conqarer is now out, to 16 year old noah rubin. So wouldnt exactly fear anyone from the bottom half, the winner of this one has a great chance at big things this week, just the one glaring problem....the top seed

Wow, that was a bit unexpected. more particularly the score. Would really like to think that it was much more the work Liam has been doing on various aspects of his game bearing fruition, as he and Greg Rusedski seemed confident about, rather than anything really far wrong from Kyle.
He has looked as if things were improving, though that scoreline still comes as a shock.

Impressive from Liam, I wonder what happened to Kyle. Wouldn't it be great if we had another winner this week, just got to beat a pesky Frenchman first.
I'm shocked by the scoreline. Kyle wasn't playing doubles, so should have been fresh, and he'd won both previous matches in straight sets. 7 wins in a row means his form was tip top. Could it be one of those strange "match up" things, where Liam's style of play doesn't suit Kyle? Maybe a bad day at the office. Anyway let's hope Liam carries this form and confidence into tomorrow's match. Good luck!

I would rather think that it was just a case of Liam having an exceptional day than Kyle playing badly. I was also surprised to see the scoreline, but Liam is obviously "in the zone" at the moment. He tweeted:
Won today 6-3 6-1 first futures semis in a long time! Playing the no.1 seed tomorrow. playing some v.good ball
