Hewitt has a MDWC for this week. Much deserved after last week's performance.

Pretty sparse field in the doubles, notable perhaps for an appearance by Bloomers (Brit interest only):

R1:  (1)  David Rice & Sean Thornley WR 387 vs BYE

R1:  Laurynas Grigelis & Giuseppe Maiga (LTU/ITA) vs Josh Goodall & Harry Meehan WR 1775

R1:  Richard Bloomfield & Sander Groen (NED) UNR vs BYE

R1:  BYE vs (3) Miles Bugby & Marcus Daniell (NZL) WR 1191

R1:  Oliver Hudson & James Ireland UNR vs Sam Hutt & Myles Orton UNR

****

QF:  Richard Bloomfield & Sander Groen (NED) UNR vs (3) Miles Bugby & Marcus Daniell (NZL) WR 1191

A bit annoying that 4 of the top 5 Brits here are playing each other in R1!

It's disappeared now, but can anyone explain why my earlier post with the link to the singles draw, not to mention several posts last week, also including links to draws and/or match reports on other sites, should suddenly merit being labelled a "spam comment" when they clearly weren't? confuse

I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t51268041/status-please-read-this-post-if-you-get-a-message-rejected-a/ explains a bit, and how best to get around it for now. It's either posts with links or very long posts or both that are getting caught.

Activeboard is a bit weird like that. Any Mod that sees a post marked as spam when it obviously isn't can approve it - but of course they have to see it first!

Thanks to Steven for his attempted explanation, but how do I do that, Mad?  It's only started happening in the last couple of weeks & only my own posts have been so marked!  Beginning to think it's a conspiracy... wink

Not good news - I know that Richard was there but was very unwell late yesterday so most probably had to withdraw today.

I hope I am wrong and it is a technical breakdown.

I will be much more dissappointed if he misses his doubles pairing with that great veteran Sander Groen which would have been a good experience.

Bloomers was replaced, by the 44-year-old he was due to play doubles with ... and another bad defeat for GB no. 2 Josh whose virtually unbeatable Futures form from the summer seems to have nosedived this month.

L32: Neil Pauffley WR 560 beat (3) Josh Goodall WR 212 by 6-7(3) 6-1 6-4 biggrinbleh
L32: (Q) Adam Thornton-Brown WR 1829 lost to Marcus Daniell (NZL) WR 734 by 3 & 1
L32: David Rice WR 616 beat (WC) Clay Crawford UNR by 2 & 4 smilecry
L32: (4) Jamie Baker WR 242 beat (LL) Sander Groen (NED) UNR (CH 177 in 1996) by 1 & 2 smile

A huge win for Tom Farquharson as the Grigelis slump continues - upsetting the Lithuanian in R2 kick-started Ashley's run last week.

L32: (Q) Tom Farquharson WR 1566 beat (8) Laurynas Grigelis (LTU) WR 391 (CH 183 in July) by 4 & 3 biggrin

R2 - quarters 2 & 3:

L16: Neil Pauffley WR 560 v Marcus Daniell (NZL) WR 734
L16: -non-GB- (5) Bastian Knittel (GER) WR 252 (CH 157 in 2011) v Scott Griekspoor (NED) WR 1122
L16: Tom Burn WR 563 v (Q) Tom Farquharson WR 1566
L16: (4) Jamie Baker WR 242 v David Rice WR 616 (H2H 3-0)

A mod can approve a post that has been flagged as possible spam by clicking the More button to the top right of the post and selecting the "Approve" option that appears on the dropdown when a post has been flagged in that was.

No conspiracy (at least two other posters have been affected, and probably more that I haven't noticed yet or whose posts  another mod approved before I got there), just a rather clumsy attempt by Activeboard to limit spam, which hopefully they'll give up on because they get lots of complaints ... or preferably tweak so that members can be approved once and for all rather than us having to do it post by post.

Ir's a real pity re Josh. He had seemed to have got himself so much fitter and focussed from the second half of last year.  And then and for a lot of this year good consistent results followed.

Now having an inordinate difficulty passing James Ward's ranking points total for this year in that he remains on 186 as against 187.
