Well if the occasional missile flying overhead bothers you I would advise against going to Ashkelon in the first place. It's a bit like going to the South Pole and complaining that it is cold.

Oli has just found this too:

Most dangerous tournament to be at since Andijan 2005 or that one that Anne was at in the Lebanon? I hope they're going to be ok.

Wow, it appears to have really kicked off with Ashkelon getting many mentions. Rather more than the odd missile flying overhead, though i wouldn't even be too keen on that

This tends to happen every few months or so. Fortunately the missiles in question are not that accuarte so fatalities are pretty rare.

That's comforting, so they are liable to land anywhere !

Yes, don't inaccurate missiles have a greater tendency to hit civilian areas than military targets? They've got this 'Iron Dome' rocket shield that seems to help, but it sounds like a very stressful place to live http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=289127

Here is a media report from July this year.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/158219#.UIgiq4bbIbs

Obviously not all the missiles were fired at Ashkelon but as the city is only 8 miles from the Gaza Strip it is a prime target.

These missiles aren't normally used against military targets.

Oli. 13 points lost in a row from 2-3 with 3 bps for 3-3. Set conceded. Opponent ranked considerably below him. Hmmm! Back to the same discussion again.

Please prove me 100% wrong in sets 2 and 3. Go on!

0-3* second set. So that's 7 games lost in a row, with 2 of the last 3 service games lost to love. Tons of double faults thrown in. What's going on?

0-5* second set. Now 9 games in a row; 3 of the last 4 service games lost to love. Even more double faults. Given the opponents ranking (it's not Federer!), its difficult to believe he's either not trying, gave up at 2-4 first set, or desperately injured and should have defaulted. Or wasn't prepared to play for whatever reason!! I'm sorry to say this. Really sorry.

Richard is doing a bit better now, *3-3 in the 2nd, but it looks like Oli is about to get bagelled in the 2nd, 2-6 0-5* ... though as I write that, he gets a bp.
