Slabba handed Zlatanovic a bagel and a breadstick in the QFs last week. Let's hope he has remembered to warm up the oven again!

The oven obviously was quite warm enough, but he still got there in straight sets wink :

FINAL: (5) Alex Slabinsky WR 568 v (1) Steven Diez (CAN) WR 261 (CH 253 last month)

H2H 0-1 - that 6-1 4-0 ret. defeat in last week's event, which Diez went on to win.

This is Slabba's 3rd Futures singles Final of 2012 - he won the other two.

Good to see Slabba finding more form of late. Winning the final ( looks a tough job ) would take him back into the top 500 for the first time in over 2 years and it would be over 3 years apart from a one week appearance at WR 499.

With nothing to defend before next April that must just be a matter of time, whatever the final brings, and I am sure he will want to go on climbing a lot more than that.

Slabba finally converts his third set point, breaking to 30 in the tenth game, & the first set is in the bag by 6-4, the first set dropped by Diez all week! biggrin  Keep it going, lad, ...
