This report suggests it was an amazing match between Tara and Marcinkevica. He says it was won on the 10th match point rather than the 15th, but whoever lost count can be forgiven, I think.

Sam has fought back well in the opening set after losing the first four games, recovering one break immediately and the second when Marcinkevica served for the set
Sam 5-5*

Sam went down an early break in set 2 pulled back to 4-4 after a series of deuce games, only to be broken again. Marcinkevica had a set point at 5-4, but Sam has just broken back again
Sam is now due to rise about 50 places into the 320s on Monday week. However, she still has 44 points from Australian 25Ks to defend in November and December, so she was in need of these points just to stand still over the last quarter of 2012 - so far this quarter, she has amassed 43 points c.f. 47 in the last quarter of 2011.
Pretty impressive to defend a a few weeks' work from last year in a single week though!

In many ways the question must be what now ? I had previously seen little this year to suggest anything other than that she had setted in as at best maybe a top 350 player ( she's been back a fair time now ). She must clearly be good on very fast courts, but there must be some worry that kooking at the men's ( Ashley ) and women's results in Glasgow they may not be too representative of a player's likely general results.
But whatever, it is a tremendous week for her, which she should savour, and I really do hope that she can push on. Very well done, Sam
