Excellent win for Maia - one of her two best this year I think, along with the defeat of Alicia Tornado Black in the Bolton TE14 final (Tornado incidentally also beat Fatma en route to a 10K final)
Mayr-Achleitner is a former top 70 player (in 2009), who thrashed Sabine Lisicki 1 & 3 in Linz last week, though like the German, she has been quite up and down recently. Still a very tough draw though.
Emily lost to Bowtell 5 & 1 in Bath earlier this year. Amy beat two Brits in straight sets to qualify, so dare we hope her Brit-bashing appetite has been sated for the week? Can't believe she has dropped out of the top 500 again - she clearly hasn't been getting enough Brit fodder recently!
Chakhnashvili hit a career high of 134 in 2007, so I doubt she'll be a pushover for Tara.
Lucy seems to have got a late WC when Samantha got in as a DA. The blueberry's (yes, that what Myrtille means) 255 ranking is her career high.
Samantha and Jade won two doubles titles together last year but don't seem to have met in singles on the ITF Pro Circuit before.
Mitu's 199 ranking is a career high, which she reached on the back of winning a 25K in Sofia last month.

She beat Anne the year Anne had just broken into the top 100. Anne served for the first set then went into meltdown and burst into tears in the press conference when some hack asked her whether she felt she'd let everyone down.
I watched that match in Linz last week between Mayr-Achleitner & Lisicki, and Steven is right, it was a thrashing. If anything, 1 & 3 flattered Lisicki. She also gave Martic a hard time in R2. Her serving in both matches seemed solid and pretty effective to me.
