I thought Anne looked strong today. Worked the points well, defended superbly at times. Serve looked on today so she got plenty cheap points which made a big difference.

And she was, as ever, looking stunning.

Must be a great relief for Anne to notch up a Tour main draw win again. Despite playing the top seed though she has been shunted on to Court 1 tomorrow - first match at midday BST

Now that Heather has taken the pressure off, it should be relatively easy for Anne to win this title, so I still stand a chance in the ranking predictions competition.. No?

Anne has played Roberta twice before winning one and losing one. However the win was on the Surbiton grass in 2003 and the loss was in Luxembourg in 2010.

Annie's match against Vinci has started on live score. (Though starngely not on Bet365 yet, though it is listed)
Vinci's first round match was a crazy, schizophrenic affair: 6-0 2-6 6-0
Here's hoping that the Set 2 Vinci from that is the on that shows up today.

A good effort from Anne in the 1st set, but Vinci ultimately broke in the decisive 10th game and now leads 6-4 1-0*

She had more BP's (1/3), but Vinci made all hers count (2/2). Competitive though.
