Good final set from Anne to get the win. Must be a big relief for her to get a win as it's been a while

Her serving got even worse in the third set, but it was more effective when it went in.
Her possible next round opponents are yet to play.
That's Anne's first win since Wimbledon! So, although it was ugly at times at least it's positive result for her.
Hope she can build something from here, but will need to improve.

She got to 4-2 but then I stopped following the scores for a while and now Rampre is 5-4 up.

The long game at 5-4 was key to that set. Once JoKo got through it she didn't look back.

Neither Johanna or Anne's Q2 opponents have been decided yet.

What a nice day it's been for British Tennis

Heather won, twice! Re-writing all sorts of records along the way.
Andy won beating the world #1 and making another ATP 1000 final.
Anne & Johanna also both had good wins.
Colin & Ross were very close to a 1000 final too.

Just hope to be saying the same, to the power of ten, this time tomorrow.

Another good win - and after ealier results for Heather, Andy and Anne I couldn't see this one going wrong.

Tougher tests to come for JoKo in round 2 and Anne in round 3 (provided she beats the winner of a match between WR320 and an unranked wildcard)

An in form Anne would obviously expect to win well - we'll see what happens.

Good chance to gague the level of Johanna's game, against a well known and tough player on the up. Laura beat the Spaniard recently, 3 & 3 in Beijing qualies. Muguraza had a Q1 w/o as, following her good week in Linz, Mattek-Sands withdrew late.

Broken right back though hmm and the second set is gone soon after.
